🐝🌼 Buzzing with excitement at Battersea Park Children’s Zoo! 🌼🐝
Our Year 6 pupils had an unforgettable experience stepping into the role of beekeepers for the day. Dressed in full beekeeping suits and veils, they had the opportunity to get up close to the bees and visit the zoo’s apiary—the place where honeybee colonies are kept in their hives.
The children learned about the vital role bees play in pollination, how a hive works as a community, and why protecting these incredible insects is so important for our environment. Their curiosity, bravery and enthusiasm shone through as they met thousands of busy worker bees in action!
A fantastic hands-on learning experience that brought science and nature to life. 🐝🍯🌿

🔬✨ Spectacular Science with the Royal Institution! ✨🔬
What an incredible morning of curiosity, discovery and wonder as our children and their families joined us for a spectacular science show led by science presenter Ted Hill from the Royal Institution. Known for bringing science to life through exciting demonstrations, Ted wowed the audience with a series of fascinating experiments that sparked plenty of amazement, laughter and questions. The Royal Institution`s mission is to inspire young people through engaging, hands-on science experiences, and today`s show certainly did just that.
It was wonderful to see so many children attending alongside their parents and carers, sharing the excitement of scientific discovery together. From explosive reactions to mind-bending demonstrations, the show reminded us all that science is at its best when it is experienced, explored and enjoyed.
A huge thank you to Ted Hill and the Royal Institution for inspiring the next generation of scientists, engineers and innovators! 🧪⚡🚀

Year 1 have been learning all about measurement, using 10cm strips to estimate lengths and rulers to measure accurately. Through lots of practical, hands-on activities, they quickly became experts at making estimates – and many were spot on! 🎯
The excitement was so great that children started measuring everything they could find, including the classroom carpet! 🤭
We are so proud of the enthusiasm, accuracy and confidence they have shown throughout this unit. Well done, everyone! ✨
