At St Matthias, we are part of the Primary Advantage Federation. Each school within the federation has a Local Advisory Board (LAB), which plays an important role in supporting the leadership of the school.
The Local Advisory Board works closely with the Headteacher and Executive Principal to provide both support and challenge, ensuring that the school continues to deliver a high-quality education for all pupils.
Role of the Local Advisory Board
The LAB meets regularly to review the work of the school and contribute to strategic decision-making. Members focus on ensuring that pupils achieve well and that the school continues to improve.
This includes:
- Reviewing pupil outcomes and progress across the school
- Considering how well pupils are performing compared to national expectations
- Receiving and discussing reports on finance, health and safety and the curriculum
- Supporting leaders to make informed decisions that benefit the whole school community
Membership
Our Local Advisory Board is made up of a range of representatives, including:
- Staff members
- Parents and carers
- Members of the local community
This ensures a broad range of perspectives and a strong connection between the school and its community.
Impact
Through effective support and challenge, the Local Advisory Board helps to ensure that St Matthias continues to provide a high-quality education and positive outcomes for all pupils.
