Collective Worship

Information on how and when we worship collectively as a school.

Collective Worship takes place every day at school. It is an opportunity for us to:

  • Reflect on key aspects of our school vision.
  • Learn and inspire one another in an inclusive and inviting space.
  • Consider how we can make a positive contribution to our school community.
  • Learn, celebrate and partake in some of the traditions of our church.
  • Grow spiritually through experience of prayer, stillness, worship and reflection.

St Matthias School Prayer

Collective Worship always ends in a prayer. This may be: our school prayer, the Lord’s Prayer or prayers that the children have written themselves.

Collective Worship Champions

Our collective worship champions in Year 6 help to make our Collective Worship sessions better by giving feedback to leaders and helping to plan key events. Our champions are role models for how to show our vision of ‘love thy neighbour’ in how they ensure our collective worship meets the needs of everyone at our school, in an interactive and engaging way. Collective Worship Champions also participate in all planned sessions.

Our students have shown incredible dedication in collecting numerous items for our Harvest Festival, embodying the values of faith, hope, and love from 1 Corinthians 13:13. Their generosity and teamwork reflect their commitment to serving the community, reminding us that love, the greatest gift, truly endures in all they do.
