Children throughout the school are encouraged to continue their learning at home in a variety of ways including using online programmes.

Homework at St Matthias

Homework is set for children across the school every Friday and is due the following Wednesday. 

Homework is key, as it provides an opportunity for children to consolidate key skills that they have learnt in class. We know that home learning has a huge impact on children’s work in class, as well as their long-term learning behaviours and success. 

We expect all children to complete the following homework each week:

  Daily Reading         

Handwriting/Spelling 

                                                                                                    Number Facts       

                                                                                       

We have invested in subscriptions to the only learning platforms Times Tables Rock Stars (KS2) and Numbots (EYFS/KS1&2). There are fantastic resources that can have a huge impact in improving children’s fluency in learning number facts. Each child has be given their login details for these.

Homework is something that children should require minimal assistance in completing, but we do ask that you support and encourage your child to complete their homework.
